Students in Villefranche
What do we do? - Education

14 students and 6 teachers from the upper secondary school of Rosny-sous-Bois, Paris, visited the LOV (Laboratoire d'Océanographie de Villefranche) during two days in April 2010 to learn more about ocean acidification. After an introductory presentation by Jean-Pierre Gattuso, EPOCA coordinator, the group carried out laboratory experiments on pteropods together with Steeve Comeau and Samir Alliouane. They also sampled zooplankton from the bay of Villefranche with Jean-Yves Carval and listened to presentations by Martina Ferraris on jelly fish experiments and Marie-Emanuelle Kerros on molecular biology techniques used in ocean acidification research. The project was organised in the framework of EPOCA's outreach
